| Meme - tagged by the mean and evil blpaintchart (who's also not able to count to seven): Choose seven things from your interests list and explain why you like them... Avoiding Alan Rickman: Get that man out of my HP, thnxbai! No matter if it's art or pics from the film. I love Alan Rickman, but not as he as appear as an overweight, twenty years too old Snape parody. Gods, he makes Snape a turn-off. Man has gorgeous legs, though. In any other setting, I'd drool over him... but not as Snape. Misanthropy: I hate the world and I am pleased to tell it so on a daily basis - including 99,9% of its inhabitants. Life in general has given me no reason to trust or like people. It happens occasionally that I cave in, though. I usually regret it later. [/Snapishness] Medieval weaponry: Began when I was four and fell in lurve with a medieval wooden carving of St George and the Dragon. Since then, I've learned to master lance, various swords, mazes, daggers and combat horses (of course). I suck at archery, though, but I am bloody good at beheading foot soldiers in the shape of white cabbage on sticks. I've done a lot of shows and have actually earned money doing something I think is extremely fun. Steam punk: I just like the genre. But literary and design-wise. Why must everything be so... plastic-y? Winter Cicada and Haru wo Daiteita <-- that's two interests, but still... Oh, don't get me started... Haru wo, or Harudaki, is a manga in which two (hugely gorgeous) former AV actors pursue careers as "serious" actors. "Winter Cicada" is a historical film they both get main roles in. The brilliance in this is that Winter Cicada sort of works as a meta story inside Harudaki. Winter Cicada is even made as an movie-length anime, which gives the whole thing an even more real feeling. I love Harudaki because it is just about the only manga that has ever caught my attention. Bloody good artist, Youka Nitta is. ETA, just because Chart demanded it: Steam punk is Jules Verne, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Sherlock and Watson. Victorian. Making new things fit as if they were made in that period. Mills: Textile mills, and the conditions for workers in said mills. The way Modernism sort of was fertilised by the working class and some of the events just around the century. William Carlos Williams was a Modernist writer and poet who wrote a famous piece of Modernist "faction" when he went to Paterson to support and describe the spinners' fight for better working conditions there during a strike. Basically, there's a reason I wrote Mills of Manchester and loved every moment of it. Wrote a lengthy exam thingy for uni about it too, and it is what I am going to write about - mills and Manchester - later on. | |

| Help me out here, lovely f-list! I need to find some Snupin fics, and I thought the easiest way was to make you do the job for me. Now the reason I ask is to make it more... random what I get than if I run over to MoonShadow and pick them out myself.
What I need is fics from three groups and in various lengths from the following groups:
- Pre HBP Old Skool Snupin: 2x >20,000, 3x>5,000, 3x>1,000, 2xpwp - Pre-DH (and after HBP): 5x >20,000, 5x>5,000, 5x>1,000, 5xpwp - Post DH: 5x >20,000, 5x>5,000, 5x>1,000, 5xpwp
If you have written Snupin that fit with this, could you link me - just link + group + length - and I'll be eternally grateful, you don't have to bother writing resumes or make the links nice. I am going to read them anyway. Do link to other writers' fics too, if they fit this.
What I need as well, are a few "established" Snupin writers and artists - authors/artists who mainly write/draw Snupin and has done so before DH. If you have time to answer a few research-and-Snupin-writing-related questions, please comment or mail snapelike @ gmail.com.

Notes: Dedicated to my friend red_day_dawning, with much love. Beta by the lovely and snarky blpaintchart. This fic can be read independently of LMoM I. LMoM Part I (105,000 words, unchaptered) can be found here, or chaptered here. Summary: Severus Snape returns to a post-war wizarding world without the Dark Lord. No matter the Dark Lord died, his followers still won the battle and the power to rule. In this new world, former Order members are forced to get by as best they can - those who haven't escaped - even if the occupation is not to their liking. Some have even become quite successful and sought after - like the infamous Remus Lupin. No matter the current political climate, love between two such different wizards as a Death Eater spy and a werewolf whore is still possible. By Severus' help finally free of the Ministry's slavery, Remus Lupin is going to start a new life. But the wizarding world is changing, the Death Eaters' rule is becoming less strict. New Reforms are issued, and the first to go through this new redemption process is Rodolphus Lestrange. By the Minister's orders Severus and Remus, together with Rabastan, Rodolphus, Oliver and, surprisingly, Neville Longbottom, are sent on a quest for a hidden treasure; a quest that takes them half way around the world. | Title: Minotauros Rating: R for violence Pairing: Rabastan Lestrange/Gregory Goyle Word Count: 7,500 Warnings: Violence, torture, rape (not between pairing). Dark romance. Author's Notes: Thanks to my lovely beta, red_day_dawning. Summary: Being sentenced to life in Azkaban should be punishment enough for almost any crime. But as it is, prison power games make sure any sentence is topped with a little extra that makes things even more unbearable. There is only one way to get though: fight and win, or lose and despair. Azkaban is not for the weak, Gregory Goyle already knows that when he finds Rabastan Lestrange abused and violated by his fellow prisoners. ( Minotauros )

| As you might have noticed, I've returned from the dead for a brief time. I had a plotbunny so persistent I had to write the story. It is a left over plot from last year's Lusty Month of May that has grown to be rather large. So... yes, I'm back to do LMoM over at pervy_werewolf, and here's a link to the first eight chapters of Snupin-y plot with pr0n - a story in which Lucius is Minister for Magic, Severus is in Bulgaria and Lupin is... well... a whore. | The Last Goodbye
Dawn rises blood-red, shredding the night's heavy cloak.
Searching for hours, his hope is seeping away; little drops of painful time fall and disappear in the absence.
He calls out; his need answered by silent emptiness of faraway echoes.
In an abandoned house he finds him: a broken doll, cast away; the toy of a petulant child. A life lost, a love dead. Blood-red loss.
A hand wanders over the cold skin he once offered his burning kisses.
He cannot form words for this, their last goodbye. Sorrow is wordless; pain is forever.
His tears are bitter rain on barren land.

| Hah, no wonder I loved my wizard_love gift so much! Reveals are up, and it turned out to be one of my favourite authors, the lovely and talented odogoddess, who wrote A Toxic & Tender Time for me; an absolutely perfect Snape/Minerva with a side order of Viktor/Millicent. If you haven't yet read it, I recommend you do; it is marvellously written. Thanks to ragdoll and katesque for making wizard_love, I think this is one of the fests that really needs to be here, since het gets (at times) little attention in my (slashy) corner of fandom. (Also, they manage to put up with my grumpiness, and that is important too.) I wrote a nice little Lucius/Narcissa - The Fall and Rise of the House of Malfoy for leni_jess, if you're interested. | |

| I've been mean to mnemosyne_1 and must therefore post this: Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, thoughts on yaoi, favorite type of underwear, graphic techniques, etc. Repost in your own journal so that we can all learn more about each other. | |

| A few recs: A Toxic and Tender Time - by Anonymous. This is probably one of the best het fics I have read in a long time. Minerva/Severus, and *squees* even more rare: Viktor/Millicent. The author takes us through two parallel story-lines, giving us a very competent Minerva, a Severus who's finally done doing what he needed to do, all wrapped around DH canon in a very clever way. Good characterisation, language and a great back-story for Minerva. Angsty romance between equal partners... do read it, even if you usually don't read het. This is the good stuff! Damned brilliant female characters! Summary: "I don't want to have to make it an order, Agent Grey." She stared up at him, stricken. He gave her a thin smile in exchange. "Unspeakables never retire, Minerva. You know it, as well as I do." What Heaven We're In - by schemingreader. Lovely Snupin. Sparse language, good plot, damned hot smexx. Wonderful dialogue. Cross dressing Snape... what more do you want? Summary: Remus Lupin survived the war and is living in Key West, where he decides to indulge in his passion for drag queens. Guess who is a drag queen? Raising Snakes (or The Joys and Woes of Having Too Much of a Good Thing) - by kabal42. Oh noes! Harry/Draco, Harry/Draco/Pansy. I was sort of giggling all the way through the story. Being a D/ myself I really, really felt poor Harry's woes here, with two unruly subs and a need for coffee. Go read this: it is well written, funny, and by someone who really knows what he's talking about. Brilliant BDSM! Summary: Harry is doing Ginny a favour. Then Pansy and Draco try to do one for each other, making Harry wish he'd never agreed to the first favour. Until something changes his mind. | |
